Casa de Uco
Casa de Uco
Uco Valley, Argentina

Casa de Uco is a 320 hectare estate situated in the Uco Valley sub-region of Mendoza, on Argentina 's western border. It is owned by father and son team of Alberto and Juan Tonconogy.

Mendoza is located in the far west of Argentina, pressed against the shoulders of the Andes Mountains, with a continental, semi-ard climate. The heat is moderated by the 1,250 metres altitude and diurnal range that helps to retain freshness in the wines. Malbec is the dominant grape on the estate and is cultivated in the vineyards by Sebastián Bisole, who is passionate about sustainability and organics - 20 hectares of the estate’s vines are organically farmed.

Winemaker Alberto Antonini focuses on producing single-vineyard wines that fully express the terroir from which they came. In the modern winery he uses concrete eggs and tanks, as well as stainless steel fermenters. The wines are aged in lightly toasted oak to retain their pure varietal flavours and aromas.
