Hawke’s Bay is one of the warmest regions in New Zealand, enjoying a warm Maritime climate, with low rainfall and high sunshine hours during the growing season. This climate is ideal to grow later ripening grape varieties including Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon , planted on the Gimblett Gravels, a free-draining former riverbed that is home to some of New Zealand’s finest red wines.
