Weingut Rabl
Weingut Rabl
Kamptal, Austria

The Rabl family have been growing grapes in the Kamptal region of northeast Austria for over 300 years and in 1946 began bottling their own wines. Today father and son team, Rudolf & Rudi run the 80 hectare estate.

Located near the town of Langenlois, Weingut Rabl experiences a dynamic continental climate, where the hot Pannonian winds from the east is tempered by the cooling breezes from the Waldviertel to the northwest. This unique combination results in warm days and cool nights, retaining delicate aromatics and natural vibrant acidity in the grapes. The main grape varieties grown are Grüner Veltliner and Riesling for white wines, as well as Pinot Noir for red wines. The family’s 80 hectares of vineyards are grown on ancient and diverse soils with a large proportion of loess and loam, as well as primary rock.

Rudi only uses excellent quality grapes in the winery to allow minimum intervention winemaking, as he believes that ‘only perfect grapes can make top wine’. He is not afraid of producing powerful wines, crafting a range with depth of aroma, extract and complexity.
